Pump.fun Regains Solana Memecoin Leadership

Pump.fun, a top Solana memecoin launchpad, has taken back the top spot in the industry this August, taking the lead in both market share and revenue as the memecoin market as a whole recovered. After a big drop earlier in the month, Pump.fun shot up and took over 73% of Solana memecoin launchpad activity, making it the main engine for token mints and trading volume.

Revenue and market share go through the roof.

DefiLlama says that Pump.fun made an impressive $13.48 million in weekly sales between August 11 and Sunday, which was its highest point since February 2025. This rise comes after a drop in July, when weekly revenue fell as low as $1.72 million and the monthly total hit its lowest point of the year. The memecoin market-wide downturn also played a role, with the sector’s capitalization dropping $16 billion in just one week. CoinMarketCap data showed that the market was recovering by mid-August, with the sector going back up to $75 billion before settling at $66 billion.

According to Jupiter, a Solana-based trading aggregator, Pump.fun is in the lead with $4.68 billion in trading volume, 1.37 million traders, and 162,000 token mints in the last seven days. LetsBonk briefly took the top spot in July, but Pump.fun has clearly taken it back, with LetsBonk trailing with a 15.3% market share and $974 million in volume.

Legal Problems Don’t Stop Growth

Pump.fun is doing well, but it is being sued in a $5.5 billion class-action lawsuit. The lawsuit says that aggressive marketing made people feel like they had to act quickly and compared the platform’s structure to a “unlicensed casino,” where early users make money at the expense of later users. Dune Analytics says that the platform’s total revenue over its lifetime has reached $800 million, though.

Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, talked about Pump.fun’s global potential and talked about other things it could do besides launching tokens, like a streaming platform.

Pump.fun’s return to the top of the market and record revenue show that Solana’s memecoin sector is still strong, even though it is being looked at by the law. With millions of traders and mints, Pump.fun is going to stay a big part of the changing world of crypto-powered digital communities.
